About Morse Code & Signal Communication

Morse code is a method used in telecommunication to encode text characters as standardized sequences of two different signal durations, called dots (.) and dashes (-). Named after Samuel Morse, it was the primary language of the telegraph system and is still used today in aviation, amateur radio, and assistive technology.

Structure of the Alphabet

The code is built on timing. A dot is the basic unit of time. A dash is three times the duration of a dot. Each character is separated by a gap equal to one dot, while words are separated by a forward slash (/) in our morse code converter.
